PowerPoint Quiz

In today's class we used PowerPoint to create quizzes for students. This is a good way to create multimedia quizzes quickly, but it lacks control as students can hit the space bar to jump to the next slide. I suspect there is a macro out there to overcome this. For simple quizzes, with feedback in, try http://docs.google.com

Thanks to Allan Morton for the idea.

Reading Presentation

In order to cut down our work load, out tutorial group was split into three groups of seven to nine people. Each group was given a set of assigned readings (we got ICT), and asked to summarise these as well as one other each per person. Out group consisted of 7 people (Renee, Simon, Belinda, Matt, Kathryn, Aaron and myself).

Reading Readings

3 days of uni a week sounds like perfection. Plenty of time to earn some money and hang out at the beach, right? Not likely. Not at UWS on the accelerated MTeach program. Since Thursday, all I have done except for reading and making notes is sleeping, eating, cleaning and grocery shopping. It's true, all this reading does take time, but part of this is due to the fact that I am still finding my style. I am getting back into the habit of reading academic papers, and working out a note-taking style that works for this course.

BibMe (http://www.bibme.org/) is a great service that can search for books, journal articles etc and create a citation for you in the format of your choosing (APA in my case).
