Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way.
Thus far, my student assessments have been relatively unsophisticated, relying mostly on written tasks. As I being my teaching practice, I will look for new, more imaginative ways to assess student prior knowledge and learning. This desire has been prompted by course-related work undertaken in regards to assessment. The two attachments below document my recent learning in this area: the first looks at HSC Examination marking, and the second at a more structured way to assess students through the study of a course such as the HSC Preliminary. I experienced some difficulties in producing these two documents, and it is this challenge that has really prompted me to consider how, and why, I assess students.
